ADHICHUNCHANAGIRI MAHASAMSTHANA MUTH
Adichunchanagiri Muth
is situated on the Adichunchanagiri hills, Nagamangala taluk of Mandya
district. The place is blessed with beauty of nature where peacocks play
under the azure shadow of the trees and cool breeze in the midst of beautiful
rural settings. The land scape is a great nature of mankind. It is dear
to nature lovers, bewitches the devotes to develop a spiritual bent of
mind. It is a punyastala par-excellence. The presiding deity is Lord Kalabhairaveshwara.
The hillock, the dome of temple Gangadhareshwara and the pond in Mayravana
are a sight for the Gods. Adichunchanagiri Peeta has a great tradition
and significant inheritance of illustrious succession of Gurus who have
contributed to the improvement of mankind. The fervent and dedicated aims
of the muth have attracted millions of devotees.
BRIEF HISTORY
Adhichunchanagiri Institute
of Technology was started during the year 1980 under the auspicious of
Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (Reg.) with the blessings of Sri Sri
Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji to provide technical and other professional
education in the rural area of industrially less developed Chikmagalur.

Adichunchanagiri Institute
of Technology (AIT) was started in the year 1980 and the campus having
an area of about 51 acres, is one of the finest sites on the Kadur-Mangalore
road. This institute was initially affiliated to University of Mysore,
then to Kuvempu University and now to Visveswaraiah Technological University.
It has an intake of 460 students sanctioned by Government of Karnataka
and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Students from various parts of the country
have taken admission.
The

ADIMISSION
& ELIGIBILITY FOR B.E. COURSE
- Admission
for the first year of the course shall be open to the students
who have passed the two year Pre-University examination
(Science)
conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board.
OR
10+2 the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E)
with Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects and English as a subject
of study
OR
Those who have passed any other examination
recognised by the
University as a equivalent there to.
- The Candidates
shall have secured a minimum of 50% of marks
in the
aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of
Second year
Pre-University examination or at the end of
12 year public examination.
- The B.Sc.,
graduates are also considered eligible for admission
to first
year B.E., course if they have secured a minimum of 50% of Marks in
the
aggregate of subjects.

- The three
years Diploma Holders in appropriate branch
of Engineering
granted (Awarded) by the Board of Technical Education, Government of
Karnataka, or any other Diploma qualification
considered equivalent
there to by this University, who have secured not less than
50% of the
total maximum marks in the final examination of the Diploma
course are
eligible for admission for the first year
of B.E. Course in appropriate
branch. However, there shall not be any exemption of any subject at
the
B.E. course.
- The Candidates
belonging to SC & ST and any other groups classified by
the Government of Karnataka for such purpose from time to time shall
be
considered eligible for the admission if they have
passed the qualifying
examination giving eligibility for B.E. admission with 10% less
marks i.e.
with 40% of marks. However, the candidates
shall take qualifying
examination like C.E.T. etc.
- The candidates
other than those, who have passed the examination of
Pre-University examination Board, Engineering Diploma Examinations of
the
Board of Technical Education Karnataka and B.Sc., degree
examinations
from any of the Universities of Karnataka state, have to obtain
eligibility
certificate for seeking admission
to B.E., degree course
from
Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum
or from concerned
Engineering college of Karnataka state. The University
will notify dates
for the issue of eligibility certificates from time to time.

The Institute offer the following course of instructions leading to the
degree of
the Bachelor of Engineering in the respective branches according
to four years
Scheme regulations of the Visweswaraiah Technological
University. Each
course is of eight semester duration.

INSTITUTE
LIBRARY :
The Institute
has a well equipped library consisting of all technical
books, periodicals and
other publications open to the staff and students of the Institute. The
library also contains
the books on literature and general interest.
ADIMISSION
OF HOSTEL
A.I.T.
Boy's Hostel is situated in the AIT campus and accommodates about 450
students.
The AIT Ladies Hostel situated adjacent to the College
Campus has accommodation for
about 250 students. The students who are hailing from
different places will be provided
accommodation in these hostels on first come first serve basis.
